CROWNS AND BRIDGES
A dental crown is a tooth shaped cap placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Crowns are often used after root canals, large fillings, or to repair broken teeth.
Dental bridges replace one or more missing teeth. It consists of one or more artificial teeth anchored by crowns on the neighboring natural teeth or implants.
HOW IS THE CROWN PLACED?
- Dr. John prepares the tooth, building it up if needed, and fixing
damage to the tooth if needed - A final impression is made of the tooth and sent to a dental lab to
create a custom crown or bridge – A temporary being placed while lab
work is being ordered - The dentist removes the temporary crown and cements the
permanent crown or bridge in place.
